Nago Castle

Nago Castle

Area

In the early part of the 14th century Nago Castle was home to the Nago Aji, a local chieftain who ruled the area. The site of Nago Castle is now located within Nago Central Park, famous for its Taiwan Cherry tree blossom. Every January, particularly mid-month, as many as 200,000 pink Taiwan cherries are in thick bloom. The Nago City spring cherry blossom festival is certainly a thing to behold if you happen to be in the area at the right time of year. Also within Nago Central Park is a hilltop observation point, open spaces to relax in or enjoy a spot of birdwatching, and forest paths to walk. From the hilltop lookout point one can enjoy views of Nago and the emerald green waters of the East China Sea.
