Izumi Pineapple Garden

When pineapple seedlings were first imported from Hawaii in 1923, their cultivation was undertaken in Izumi, Motobu Town, presently known as the birthplace of Okinawan pineapples. The facility is naturally all about pineapples, and visitors can observe the pineapple field by the shop for free. There is a pineapple sponge cake factory inside the facility as well as a gift shop with all the specialty goods of Northern Okinawa, many of which are unique, and visitors are welcome to sample them. A film on the ecology of Habu poisonous snakes is also shown.
