Fukushu-En Park

Fukushu-En Garden was completed in 1992. It was built to mark the 10th anniversary of sister city ties between Naha and Fuzhou of Chinas Fujian province, and the 70th anniversary of Naha’s incorporation. The gardens interior overflows with exoticism, seeking to represent the magnificent nature of China and particular scenic spots found in Fuzhou City. Fukushu-En is located in the Kume district of Naha City. 600 years ago, the first group of Chinese came from Fujian province to establish a community in Kume, their skills being of great importance to Ryukyu at that point in its development. As such, Kume district has a very deep connection with China.
