Aja Port


The entrance to the sea located in Aja, Naha City. This is the leading port within the prefecture, with the mainland lines of Tokyo, Osaka and Kobe ferryboats to Sakishima and the solitary islands, berths for freight ships and container ships, and the international wharfs that serve as the port-of-call for foreign ships. Construction of the International Container Terminal and plans for the “International Passenger Ship Terminal” to meet the demands of the present regular and irregular international cruise vessel lines are being carried out according to the Okinawa Promotion Plan. It is also used for the “Naha dragon-boat race” during Golden Week (Beginning of May).
